There are a number of drugs that can be used in the treatment of fibroids. This form of treatment is ever expanding and may ultimately represent a major treatment option.

The following are hormones, which reduce symptoms from fibroids:

• Birth-Control Pills
• Progestins (e.g. Megace®)
• GnRH analogues (e.g. Lupron®)
• RU-486 (experimental)

In addition, Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs (e.g. Motrin®) can also be helpful in controlling many of the symptoms caused by fibroids.
